I've pretty much decided that as a simple aircraft, that there will be no landing light system on this Sonerai, simply because there is no detail for it in the plans. Also there are no lighting requirements for VFR flight.
But, as a safety consideration, it is very important that the visibility of any aircraft is vital. Even in perfect CAVOK weather conditions. One thing that will increase the visibility is strobe lights.
Currently, to keep it simple, I am looking at the options of either placing a strobe light on the top of the vertical stabiliser (rudder), and/or on the wing tips. All suppliers seem fairly cheap in price but things I'm looking for are, proven reliablity, cost, suitability in the Sonerai, easy fitting, easy maintainance or bulb replacement, power consumption, flash (light) intensity.
If you have any suggestions of suppliers, please leave comments. Meanwhile I'll look at designing my own using common alarm xenon strobe lights.
If I dont design my own...heres some inexpensive suppliers of strobe lighting.
